Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. We will request you fill our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
History of Your Complaint
A detailed history is necessary to treat your condtion. How did the pain begin? Have you had other treatment or diagnostic tests? How long have you been experiencing these symptoms? All tthese issue will be addressed prior to treatment.
After your history is completed, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. In some cases, more advanced testing maybe necessary.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will explain the course of treatment and expectations for recovery. You are encouraged to ask questions.
Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the appointment. The treatment would normnally include spinal manipulation and physical therapy modalities. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be comfortable with.
Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a program to incorporate outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire, our team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized plan. The purpose of our program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
